Kites – skills for life and independence

ites staff try to ensure that students are not just making progress academically and socially, but that they are constantly being prepared for whatever step may be beyond Kites, and into adulthood.

The focus is very much based around individual need but students are supported to learn how to:

  • Wash dishes
  • Sew
  • Stay safe in a  kitchen
  • Use a bus timetable (where appropriate)
  • Tell the time
  • Share
  • Tie shoe-laces
  • Use money
  • Garden
  • Make a piece of toast
  • Have resilience
  • Cook
