Year 6 Transition 2021

At Cape Cornwall School, we recognise that starting a new school is an exciting but challenging time for both students and parents.

To help students transition smoothly, ensuring they feel prepared to begin their journey through Cape, we are creating a range of transition resources, which we hope pupils and parents will find useful.

Cape Cornwall School has a dedicated transition team, led by Mr Terris, Assistant Headteacher and our Primary Partnership Lead, Mr Jones, working together with Mrs Marsh, SENCo and Miss Rowland, Office Manager.

Due to the current restrictions and measures, we are developing the ways in which we deliver our transition programme. Unfortunately, we have not able to host our regular open day and evening, nor currently are we able to offer our popular Super Saturday programme.  We very much hope that we will able to carry out visits to our primary schools, and that all our new students will be able to visit Cape Cornwall School, in the coming terms, as this is usually a key part of our transition programme. However if this cannot be done, we will be looking at using ‘remote’ platforms to introduce our staff team, and to begin to get to know the children.

Confirmation of plans and schedules will be shared with pupils and parents, which we are hoping to finalise in the coming weeks.
